The Hogwarts lamp and key holders is a gift for my new neighbor. We met on the
stairs and started talking, he ask if I wanted a couple of mirrors. I was thinking two or three so I said great, I will take them. I was thinking of developing a mirror with lights down the sides. The next day I got 27 mirrors from my neighbor.
My wife knows our neighbors and I asked her what would be a good gift for them? She told me that they love Harry Potter and I should make them something from the movies. I have previously made some coffee mug stands with the Hogwarts emblem engraving. It was thus decided to make Hogwarts lamp and key holder as a house warming gift.
The Hogwarts emblem was engraved into the mirror. The back of the mirror is divided into 5 sections. Each of the sections contain a separate light. This was done to allow each of the houses in Hogwarts it’s own color.

The mirror is 300 by 300 mm in size, one of the recovered mirrors. The mirror is
framed in 20 mm Oak. At the bottom of the mirror there is a small bowl 250 mm long by 70 mm wide. This bowl is to store small items and change from your pockets. This bowl is made from beech wood.
A t the front there are 5 key hooks. The frame is made from oak and the bowl from Beech wood.

Oak is nontoxic and is used in smoking meat.
Shellac vanish is a natural resin secreted by insects called lac bugs, which attach themselves to certain trees native to India and South-east Asia. Shellac is a product used in many foods. When used for this purpose, it has the food additive E number E904.
